I have never been a neat freak at my house. Oh how I would love for just one day to be so freakishly neat that not one thing was out of place, everything polished and squeaky clean. I personally have such a hard time focusing on one task that is is hard to keep everything in order! To give you an example, I have written a small paragraph on how my brain functions.
Put a dish in the dishwasher, read all 500 posts on my google reader, make my bed, check twitter, put one toy away, check twitter, take out the garbage, Google something interesting, wash another dish, check twitter again, sweep the kitchen, turn on the news, check twitter again.
So as you can imagine, it takes me along time to clean my house during the day!
Music helps this immensely. It’s like magic and leads to a lot of productivity on my part. I don’t know what it is about playing music while cleaning but it just forces me to accomplish things that I would otherwise not do. If my girls like the music I am listening too they tend to help me clean more as well. We pick up the toys to the beat of the music and we stop when the music stops until the next song comes on. If one of my girls has picked up a good amount of things off the floor it earns her an official mommy dance where we do some amazing dancing with the stars move that would earn us a 10 and the mirror ball trophy for sure.
I think I also burn a lot of calories this way. This should totally be a new workout. I’ll make the video as soon as I put a dish in the dishwasher, read all 500 posts on my Google reader, make my bed, check twitter, put one toy away, check twitter, take out the garbage, Google something interesting, wash another dish, check twitter again, sweep the kitchen, turn on the news and check twitter again.
