The tree is up; there is snow on the ground; and the excitement of Christmas is upon us!
Once we start getting ready for Christmas, my kids are ready to dig out the Christmas movies and start watching. Not only do my kids love the Christmas movies that we watch from year to year, but they also love all the little specials that air on TV. Our DVR records almost non-stop during the month leading up to Christmas.
Disney Junior is adding to the fun of Christmas by adding new holiday-themed episodes, movies and specials to their line up. Every weeknight at 6pm EST, Disney Junior will be showing Christmas themed shows and movies. Everytime my kids see a commercial for a Christmas themed show or special, I hear their feet running. Whether I am in the shower, making supper or sleeping snug in my bed (Saturday morning sleep-ins have just started again for me and my hubby) my kids make sure to let me know which date and time I need to set the DVR for in order for them to catch the advertised show.
There are 2 definite shows that we will be recording the weekend of December 7th & 8th.
Mickey’sMagical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse will air on Saturday December 7 at 11am EST (with an encore presentation Sunday December 8th at 3:50PM EST). In this special, extended episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey and the gang throw a party to help Donald get into the holiday spirit, after a snowstorm leaves them stranded in The House of Mouse. This magical episode features extra-special guest appearances by favourite Disney characters including Snow White, Aladdin and Winnie the Pooh.
Then on Sunday December 8, at 5pm EST, Ariel helps Sofia save her mermaid friend Oona in a special Sofia the First called “Sofia the First: The Floating Palace”. If you are looking for a movie to help the kids (or you) get through the rest of Christmas break, check out The Little Mermaid II airing on Friday January 3rd at 10am EST.
If you have no plans on Christmas day and need some extra distraction, Disney Junior will have Christmas themed movies, episodes and specials all day from 6am EST until 11pm EST.
What Christmas movies are your little one’s favorites?
