Capturing moments with a Canon EOS Rebel SL1 #Giveaway MSRP $1009.98

Everyday moments turn into memories so quickly. With the new Canon EOS Rebel SL1 I can capture these everyday moments so the memories will never have to fade.

Our family loves spending time together, whether it’s eating dinner together every night, our weekly family game nights, or taking little adventures. I have never owned or taken photos with a digital SLR, truthfully I was a little intimidated, so when I was given the chance to try out this new camera I had to face those silly fears head on. And I’m so glad I did.

We packed up our family to drive to Oak Hammock Marsh for a day of family fun.

The Canon EOS Rebel SL1 is the smallest and lightest digital SLR on the market as of today. I had no trouble carrying around the camera and extra lens, even with two children pulling on me. I loved that the camera could easily be carried in my purse, because as a busy mom, I have enough to lug around. My husband and I both loved trying out the features this camera has to offer, the amazing low light performance impressed both of us very much!

The continuous shooting option made taking action shots a breeze. Geese move pretty fast, so I was impressed that I could capture them taking flight. It was incredible to see in real life and I am so happy to have the moment captured so other people can see exactly what we saw.

The 40mm pancake lens is so small and versatile. I loved the detail and the light that the lens brought in and when I look back at all the photos I took, I can’t believe that I actually took them. I felt so comfortable using this digital SLR, I don’t know how I lived without one now that I know how incredible they are. When I was unsure of which setting to use, I set the camera to the auto with no flash feature which took unbelievable shots.  I love that as I get more comfortable I can try even more options – the creativity is endless!

Our family did not let the cold get in the way of having a fun time at the marsh. Here are a few more photos of our fun day.

When the sun went down we went inside the interpretive center, the lighting was not very good yet I still captured great photos.

I wanted to take a photo to capture the mood of reflecting on the fun day. This photo of my husband watching the sun go down turned out just how I hoped it would. I can’t wait to keep taking photos with my new Canon EOS Rebel SL1, the photos will be treasured memories forever.
