Capture every Moment with Canon – #CanonL

There is something most of us with children have in common. Photos. Many photos.  We take pictures of everything capturing all those precious milestones and everything in between. As a blogger,  many of you have seen the countless images that I have documented over the years.  Wherever I go, I like to have the ability to capture the special moments, and the everyday moments too.

Over time, I have worked to improve the photos on the blog, I spend a lot of time editing images to make them look as good as I can as an amateur. I got a Canon in the fall of 2013 and I really wanted to find a camera lens that would be my versatile “one-for-all” type lens. Most photographers have several lens’ they use for every single situation.  While I want quality shots, I do not want to carry around multiple lens’. I’ve been trying out the Canon 24-70mm 1.4L to get the close up food pictures, action shots of my girls and photos of everyday moments.

Living in Manitoba can present great times for cold outdoor shots.  The ability to be able to focus on sunny days where the sun is bouncing of everything white can pose a problem for some lenses, however with 2 aspheric and 2 UD elements, the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM delivers high- quality images with excellent detail throughout the entire zoom range. A 9-blade circular diaphragm delivers beautiful, soft backgrounds. The macro function on this lens allows me to also get those close up pics of my food shots and not loose any quality.

The EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM is the perfect zoom to complement full-frame DSLRs like the EOS 6D. With 2 aspheric and 2 UD elements, the EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM delivers high- quality images with excellent detail throughout the entire zoom range. A 9-blade circular diaphragm delivers beautiful, soft backgrounds. It offers a minimum focusing distance of 1.25 ft./0.38m across the entire zoom range and has a macro mode at the telephoto end with up to 0.7x magnification (minimum focusing distance becomes 7.87 in./0.2m) and is easily accessible with a one-touch switch. It features a Hybrid IS system with up to 4 stops of stabilization, compensating for both angular and shift types of camera shake, delivering effective stabilization even in macro. Inner focusing and ring-type USM deliver, fast, quiet AF, and full-time manual focus is available for manual focusing even while in AF mode. The durable EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM is sealed for excellent dust and water resistance plus has fluorine coating on the front and rear elements reducing smears and fingerprints. Compact and lightweight, it’s the perfect L-series lens for photographers on the go.

With both macro and telephoto features, I know that it will get full use for our active lifestyle.  This Canon lens is from the L- Series. An L-Series lens basically means that it is a luxury lens. It has the distinctive red ring, proof of a professional lens that will make most camera connoisseurs drool. One luxury lens that helps me capture those everyday moments, and more.

The past few weeks in Manitoba has been bitterly cold. -40 doesn’t stop my girls, they bundle up to go play in the snow and they are always sure to check on the birds to make sure the feeders are full while they are out there.

Inside the house, I’m always taking photos of food. Whether it is a first attempt at a new recipe creation, or a staged photo that I plan to post about on the blog, there is not a day that goes by where I am not capturing photos of family and food.

The photos in this post are resized and watermarked, but otherwise completely unedited – Although there are some edits I would normally do on these photos, I wanted to show you all how these photos look without any edits.
