BIRTHDAY PARTY GAME IDEAS FOR KIDS

When my son gets invited to a birthday party, he starts envisioning what will take place at the party.

What will there be to eat?

What presents will the birthday child will get?

What types of birthday party games will we play?

However, being the parent, I start envisioning what the parent of the birthday child will all have to plan.

Food, decorations and enough birthday party game ideas to keep the kids occupied and happy.

Do you need some birthday party help? Here are some great BIRTHDAY PARTY GAME IDEAS FOR KIDS to help plan your child's next party.

BIRTHDAY PARTY GAME IDEAS FOR KIDS

MAKE A TIME CAPSULE

Have a table set up with pieces of paper and pens or makers.

Have each of the invited guest to write up a note or draw a picture.  Have them sign their name and put it in a time capsule to be opened when birthday boy/girl turns 15, 20 or even 30 years old!

POST-IT NOTE CHALLENGE

Have party guests team up with a partner and give them 30 seconds (or any amount of time you like) to stick as many post-it notes on their partner as possible.  The team with the most post-it notes wins!

BALL TOSS

Like skeeball, have different buckets with different point amounts on each.  Have children throw balls into the buckets and try to get the highest amount possible!

MUMMY WRAP

Divide children into groups of 2 or 3 and have one person be the “mummy”. Each team will have 2 or 3 toilet paper rolls. The team who can use up all their toilet paper and wrap their “mummy” wins!

CLING WRAP PRIZE BALL GAME

Start by having different pieces of wrapped candy/chocolate and small prizes. Then wrap each prize in saran wrap and wrap around making a small ball. Place another piece of candy or prize on the ball and wrap several layers again. (To make it more difficult, tape each layer)

A player takes the ball and starts unwrapping while the player on their left rolls 2 dice. Once they roll doubles they pass the dice to the player on their left, take the ball and begin unwrapping until the next player rolls doubles. If a prize falls out, the player unwrapping gets to keep that prize. (To make this more difficult, make the un-wrappers wear oven mitts or gloves)

CUPCAKE / CAKE DECORATING

Have kids spend some time decorating their own cupcakes or mini cakes. Have different colors of icing, sprinkles and other fun candy items. (Another alternative would be to have the kids make their own pizzas)

OBSTACLE COURSE

Have children move around, under and over different obstacles while hopping, crawling backward or some other different way of moving.
