Best Articles of 2013

Have you heard of Next Issue Canada?

If you haven’t heard of it, you are missing out. I’m sharing my picks for 5 of the best articles of 2013. My husband actually became addicted to Next Issue Canada before I even knew what it was.

5 of my favorite articles from 2013

First, from the April 2013 Issue of HGTV magazine.

Little-spots-big-ideas

I love the article “little spots, big ideas”. This article shows many photos of a 400 square foot apartment that is packed with style and practical stuff without looking cluttered at all. They did such a great job on their tiny living room.

Second, from the January 2013 issue of Parents.

little-insomniacs

The article “little insomniacs” hit close to home since our daughter has struggled with falling asleep this year. This article gave some practical advice and tips that really worked. My favorite advice was for the child’s delaying tactics. If you have a child who has trouble falling a sleep, this article is a must read.

Third, from the March 2013 Issue of Family Fun.

fun-families

We love family game nights and making memories out of everyday moments, so I really enjoyed the “7 secrets of fun families” article in this issue. My favorite “secret” was the planning together for adventure. Having a game plan for fun makes sure special activities don’t get put off for “someday.”

Fourth, from the July 2013 Issue of This Old House.

one-room wondersThis Old House is a magazine I enjoy since we live in a 90 year old home we bought from my grandparents. The article “One-Room Wonders” was a favorite of mine. Thousands of people entered room makeovers into a contest and 5 winners won $1000. The rooms (indoor & outdoor) are truly marvelous and have given me some great ideas for my own home.

Fifth, from the September 2013 issue of Today’s Parent.

lunch-is-in-the-bag

Readers of my blog know I love packing “Lovable Lunches” for my daughters so when I read the “Lunch is in the bag” article in this issue I fell in love. So often parents forget about how much time could be saved by making dinners that could serve as lunches when packed in an insulated container. It was a bonus that I got some new great dinner ideas too!

For as low as $9.99 per month, you can receive unlimited access to over 100 of the world’s best magazines, including back issues on your tablet. I warn you, it’s addicting – at least it’s affordable!
