5 Things To Consider When Purchasing Shoes For Your Child {Palladium Spring/Summer 2013}

5 things to consider when purchasing shoes for your child

  • Are they easy to put on? I’m all for raising an independent child, but when it comes to waiting for my girls to tie their shoes I sometimes catch myself trying to rush them. The new Palladium shoes we received for Kate solved that problem – and not with velcro either. The Palladium shoes look like lace up shoes, but they have zippers on the inside making it easy and fast for a child to put on and take off.
  • Are they comfortable? There is nothing worse than hearing kids complain about sore feet. It is worth spending money for a comfortable pair of shoes.
  • Do they provide support? Kids are always running, jumping and yes, even falling. When looking for shoes it is important to consider the support the shoe provides.
  • Will they last? Kids feet grow fast enough, I want the shoes to last till they outgrow them, and maybe even last for a younger sibling.
  • Do they look ok? As mush as I’d like to say “fashion” it not that important when it comes to kids’ shoes, my girls would disagree. No, they don’t need the hottest trend, but they do need to like the shoes they are in.

Kids shoes

When I purchase shoes for my girls these are 5 things I consider. If I do not get at least 4 out of 5, I will not purchase them.

With warm, sunny days almost here you should check out Palladium’s Kids colourful collection for Spring/Summer 2013.

This season, Palladium offers great new colours in Indigo and Ibis Rose—a fun, bright way to welcome the new season! The Pampa High boots are stylish, comfortable and durable—perfect for all your little explorers—and extremely lightweight, which makes for easy packing when you’re traveling on-the-go.

From April showers, to summer school trips, to weekend play dates, Palladium has a colourful option for children of all ages!

When my 7 year old daughter Kate received a pair of shoes from the Spring/Summer 2013 Palladium’s Kids Collection I was impressed. Kate was sure to say that these shoes are perfect. She has worn them with jeans and dresses, shes been through dirt and in the malls.

I’m glad she loves them, because I do too.

Palladium

Palladium was founded in 1920 to make tires for the fledgling aviation industry. Tires were made by layering canvas bands underneath vulcanized rubber. Palladium’s expertise was so advanced that soon the majority of Europe’s aircraft were using Palladium tires.

After World War II, with aircraft manufacturing screeching to a halt, the demand for tires decreased dramatically. Palladium decided to open a plant in Pont De Cheruy, France, to start producing footwear that was as hard wearing as their tires. In 1947 the legendary Pampa boot was born, and the functionality, comfort and durability were so outstanding that the French Foreign Legion adopted it for their use. The Foreign Legion put the boot to the test in the harsh desert conditions of North Africa, and throughout the rugged terrain of the Atlas Mountains.

Today, the original design, classic lines and time tested utility are as relevant as they have ever been. Combining over 60 years of authenticity with modern manufacturing, premium materials and cutting edge styling, Palladium boots are ready to help you explore your street, your city, or the world.

Shoes are very much function over fashion in this house! If they can't provide good support and hurt after awhile, I will not wear them.

I love those psudo zip shoes. My daughter wants to have "shoe lace shoes" but isn't quick enough or consistent enough with her shoe tying skills to be sent off to school in a pair. She'd be crazy for these.

Love all of those tips. We are big on finding shoes that will last for our 7yo boy. He grows quickly, and loves to run, so he can go through shoes like crazy.

Those are some fun looking shoes!

Thanks for the tips. Kids' feet grow so fast and comfort and support are always at the top of our list when shopping for them.
