40 days.
My husband and I have been eating real food for 40 days! We appreciate the kind comments and support on our #TeamTrevJody journey. No, we are not done – this was not a 40-day diet, it is a way of life. I have been sharing our real food journey pictures on Instagram.
{Be sure to read the “Trev says” & “Jody says” updates at the bottom of this post.}
Here are some of our latest food photos…
Some fruit I enjoyed while at a conference.
I love fruit and nut salads!
Our daughters get bento style lunches that they love.
This healthy homemade hot chocolate is delicious. Yes, I shared the recipe!
We find it extremely important to pack snacks along when we go out so we don’t give in to unhealthy temptations.
Jody Says:
It’s amazing how much can change in 40 days. I think the best part of our healthy living journey is that my husband and I have stayed dedicated together. My mind is always thinking about how I can create recipes that with nourish and satisfy. I like that I can fit back into some clothes that I have not been able to wear in a long time.
I need to mention again how much changing my eating has had a positive impact on my mental health. I am a happier person, I feel more relaxed and the constant worry I used to have seems distant instead of like a big cloud over me.
Trev Says:
40 days!!! A lot can happen in 40 days; and that is the amount of time I have been living this new lifestyle. And like updates of the past, things seem to be getting easier and easier. I would not say that temptation is not waving it is ugly head. I would still love a Boston Cream donut or a bowl of Cap’n Crunch, but once again it is still getting easier. The temptations are not as powerful!
When I had to put on my “court clothes” (once a month work duties), it was a great feeling to know I will soon have to go shopping because they are just too big. My weight is at a place that I have not seen in years. And this week I start up rugby practice again. I am super excited to see how I will perform with a considerably less amount of me to haul around.
Wish me luck 🙂

I think it is so incredible that you and Trevor are doing this journey together – it makes it easier when the people around you support you! Both of you are setting such an amazing example for your girls – you should be proud.

Great pictures! I tried to eat healthier last year for a bit and have decided to try it again. Tonight was roast chicken breast, broccoli and carrots. I am allergic to all packaged food (sulphites/preservatives) and even whole wheat bread etc. bothers my stomach. Always have fun making nutritious shakes. I love your lunch box ideas 🙂
