Pound Puppies Homeward Pound DVD #giveaway

Remember Pound Puppies?  Those cute little dogs that needed a home and you could become their person?  Growing up I had a Pound Puppy as well as Pound Puppy books.  They were all the rage!  Hanna-Barbera created an animated T.V. special based these dogs in 1985 which was then turned into a T.V. series.

Now Pound Puppies is coming back onto store shelves.  Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound will arrive on DVD on March 6, 2012, from Shout! Factory Kids in collaboration with Hasbro, Inc.

The Pound Puppies are a team of fearless dogs whose sworn mission is to find homes for lonely puppies. Even though they look like regular dogs, these pro-active pooches match up pups with loving families fulfilling the mantra of a pup for every person and a person for every pup—all while they keep the humans at Shelter 17 clueless. Sometimes dogs are dogs’ best friend!

The Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound DVD consists of 5 different episodes and the bonus feature — Learn to Draw Lucky — one of the head Pound Puppies.  These episodes include:

Homeward Pound
My Fair Rebound
Quintuplets
K-9 Kid
Zoltron

I was excited to share something that I grew up with, with my kids.  They thought it was neat that I already knew what the Pound Puppies were all about. Although I found some of the dialogue to be a  little above my children’s heads (ages 5 & 3) they loved the stories and kept asking to play another episode.  I especially loved the Homeward Pound episode where 2 of the Pound Puppies “accidentally” get lost in Canada and the Royal Canadian Mounted Pups come to the rescue.

The Pound Puppies series is currently airing on The Hub in the U.S. and YTV in Canada.
