SAVE MONEY WITH THESE 6 GROCERY SHOPPING TIPS

The grocery store. One place we spend WAY too much time and money at. Does anyone else feel this way? After a busy summer, where I have spent too much time in my local grocery stores, I have come up with a sure-fire way to make grocery shopping easier and get out of the store quicker!

Grocery Shopping Tips

SAVE MONEY WITH THESE 6 GROCERY SHOPPING TIPS

#1) BRING A LIST – Look for and purchase only what is on your list. This will help you save money and prevent you from bringing unwanted items into your home. (We always seem to come home with too many chips and cookies!)

#2) PLAN YOUR ROUTE — This may seem silly, but I always write out my grocery lists by each individual store’s aisles.  This way I am not tempted to turn down an aisle I don’t need anything from.

#3) SHOP YOUR SALES – Sit down with weekly flyers from your local grocery stores and buy items on sale that you will need for the coming weeks. This is also a great tip for planning weekly meals.

#4) USE REUSABLE BAGS – Reusable grocery bags tend to hold more items than the regular plastic bags. In fact, shopping and bagging your groceries is quicker with reusable shopping bags.  Don’t believe me? Give it a try.  Want to shop and bag EVEN faster?  Check out our affiliate link for the Happy Cart – I LOVE THIS IDEA!

#5) KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE REGISTER – No one wants to pay more for groceries than they need to. Keep an eye on what the scanned price is coming up as for each item. While it may take a little longer if a price comes up wrong, you can save a lot of money this way.

#6) DON’T SHOP HUNGRY – If you head to the grocery store hungry, you can be sure that you are going to spend more time “aisle shopping” and end up spending more money on grocery items you don’t need.

Having to run to the grocery store every week can be a drag, however, with these 6 simple steps, you can get in and out quicker all while saving money!
