50 WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR KIDS

I think we can all agree, that kids feel better about themselves and behave more maturely if they are filled with words of encouragement.  Words Of Encouragement For Kids begin at home and we as parents have the power to fill our kids with love and confidence.

I don’t know about you, but I seem to focus on one or two words and phrases.  My kids often comment “Mom, you ALWAYS say that!”.  Now you can start with these 50 positive things to say to your child that are ideal for focusing on their great qualities and helping them shine!

When my children come home with a perfect test score, before I pour on the buckets of praise I say something like “You must have studied very hard” or “It looks like you worked really hard to get that mark” – Communication is so important.

One of the most important aspects about positive language and in fact, praise, is that it needs to be specific in order to be effective. "Good work" does. It tell the child what exactly it is they did well; instead you might say "good work finding a way to solve your homework problem!" Or "I love the way you tidied up the mess in your room"

Jasmine,

Thanks so much for your comment. Like I had mentioned in the post, I enjoy saying things like “You must have studied very hard” or “It looks like you worked really hard to get that mark” when encouraging my children.

Some moms find communication with their children quite difficult. They can get in a rut and find they are at a loss to say anything positive or encouraging to their kids, so this list was just a very basic, easy place for them to start.

I do agree with you though - being specific and intentional is always the best.
