Now that I have you all excited I have to tell you about my experience going to camp as I child. I first went to camp when I was 10 years old and I went every summer till I was about 16 years old. I was a pretty quiet child, so camp really stretched me.
My favorite camp activities were crafts and archery, I still have a little bench that I made one year at camp. For me camp was a place that I felt welcomed and included. The highlight of each week was the one night we would have a huge bon-fire and sing camp songs late into the night. I made some good friends at camp and looked forward to my week at camp every summer.
Now that we have 2 little girls we have started talking to them about camp. Our 6 year old is not interested in camp yet, but our 3 year old can not wait till she is old enough for the camp adventure.
