We are in the middle of getting ready for a HUGE yard sale so our house is completely upside-down. I was trying to think of what I should post for my Monday’s Montessori Moment so I asked our 4 year old. She said I should post about the Continents. I looked back through some of my pictures and stoped when I saw this… I just knew this is what I had to share (a post from the past).
I made this continent cake for my daughter when she turn 4. At that time she seemed to be in a sensitive period for learning about the world. I asked her what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday and when she said continent cake – I knew I would be in for a challenge!
The look in her eyes when she saw the cake made it worth it!
I have to say (looking back) that this was an amazing party. Snow White really was the happiest little girl in the world. She was excited to tell the guests the names of the continents and show them where she lived.
I really enjoyed doing the birthday celebration. Snow White held the “earth” in her hands while walking around the sun. Each time she walked around I read a special memory and showed a picture of her at that age. This was a very special and emotion experience for me and I am so glad I did it!
Snow White still talks about that special birthday party and tells me that I made it just perfect! Awe, what a way to melt a mom’s heart.

What a beautiful cake! It must have taken a lot of time to complete-it looks so perfect!! And what a great party theme-educational and fun at the same time.
