HOW BECOMING A MOTHER WILL CHANGE YOU

Becoming a Mother changes you more as a person than many other things on this planet.

Your whole perspective on the future, life, and your goals shift as you find yourself in unfamiliar territory.

You might find yourself wondering who you are and how one tiny human can change someone so completely.

HOW BECOMING A MOTHER WILL CHANGE YOU

It doesn’t matter what age or stage your children are at.

Whether you adopted or conceived them, whether you met them at birth or through a spouse, being a mother is one of the most rewarding and amazing experiences in life.

There are many ways being a mom changes the way you look at life.

NOT SO JUDGEMENTAL

Before you had children it was easy to look at another mother and be convinced that your kids would never be allowed to do something they are doing.

You would never raise your voice and your kids would not be picky eaters.

These hilarious fantasies are now nothing more than something to look back on and laugh.

All parents are much better at this parenting gig before they actually have kids.

YOU WORRY ABOUT OTHER MOTHER’S CHILDREN

It doesn’t matter how old the child is, when someone else’s child is sick, in danger or hurt, you will feel it in the depths of your soul.

You may find yourself crying for the pain another mom feels over struggles that are not your own and even crying for someone else’s child.

When you become a mom it seems as though your capacity for empathy grows and your heart will break a lot easier and more often than you ever believed it could.

THE WORLD SEEMS SCARIER

Prior to becoming a mother your views of something as necessary as a toilet was never seen as a potential threat.  And that stranger at the store that strikes up a conversation?  They are just being polite.

Now it seems toilets are a scary, germ-filled, water hazard and those strangers could be potential kidnappers.

You become far more paranoid that you ever that was necessary or possible.

DISGUSTING TAKES ON A NEW MEANING

Having children exposes you to a variety of gag-worthy experiences that you thought you may never have.

But don’t worry, you find yourself dealing with them with finesse!

Being a mom increases your tolerance for experiences you would otherwise be incapable of muscling through.

BUSY TAKES ON A NEW MEANING

Life changes when children become part of the picture.

Things that used to take you no time at all have now become an escapade.

Your priorities change and you no longer have the time for things that used to occupy much of your time.

Simple tasks take longer to complete so you find yourself spending more time enriching your children’s lives rather than your own.

As a mom, you get really good at learning to juggle your obligations, your self care and the care of your children.

But remember, busy does not need to define you or your family!

YOUR DEFINITION OF LOVE CHANGES

Prior to having children, you experience love in a totally different way.

Yes, you love your parents, best friends, siblings and your significant other fiercely, but having a child gives you a new sense of love.

This love is a completely different experience.

When you become a mother you instantly become someone else’s world, advocate, caretaker and more! And the feeling of love that comes along with that will take your breath away.

This doesn’t change as your children get older.  Your love grows deeper with time and each child you have.

There is no love on earth quite like the love a mother has for her children.

Motherhood will certainly change your perspective, priorities and how you define love. It’s an amazing ride that is full of wonderful new and exciting experiences that will change the way you view the world.
