Donate4Good with Glad!

It is August, which means that summer is 1/2 over (sorry folks!)  In 1 month the kids will be back in school here and that means that there is still lots to get done around the house.  I use this time during the pre-back-to-school season to go through my closets to see what we can get rid of, and look through my kids clothes to see what they have outgrown and will not be able to wear in fall.

Generally speaking, my kids are very kind to their clothes – especially my daughter – so she outgrows her clothes long before she outwears them.  While many people take pictures of all the items and sell them, it can be bothersome to load them all onto a buy & sell site and wait for people to pick up.

We have always taught our children to give back continuously, so my daughter has gotten into the habit of finding things in her room that she no longer needs or wants and donating it to our local charities.  So why not send your gently used items to Goodwill?

Glad for Goodwill

Glad Canada is teaming up with Goodwill locations across Toronto and the G.T.A this summer for Goodwill’s ‘Donate4Good‘ program.  To help encourage communities to donate their used goods to those in need, Glad will be donating $10,000+ black plastic bags to help bring your donateable items.  Simply head to selected Loblaws locations on weekends from August through October to pick up your Glad bags and return them to donate!

August 14 & 15 — 3501 Yonge St, North York

August 28 & 29 — 17 Leslie St, Toronto

September 18 & 19 — 50 Musgrave St, Toronto

October 2 & 3 — 2280 Dundas St. West, Toronto

October 23 & 24 — 5970 McLaughlin Rd, Mississauga

For every Glad bag returned, with clothing and other gently used items, Glad will donate $1.50 to Goodwill!

From day one with our first child through to our fifth we have always recycled the kids clothing especially...our friends did the same. That way when something special was needed there was money for it and at the same time we shared and also benefited.

I love this marriage of brands and good will exercise as well. It makes so much sense. Now if this were nation-wide I would happily take part in my area of Ontario too.

This is a brilliant partnership. I love it! So clever. What do you typically put used goods in? Either a box or a glad garbage bag so why not? I wish this were extended to more areas though.
