Affordable Summer Fun Activities For Kids #FisherPriceMoms

Summer is a time when schedules and routine fly out the window.  I use these summer months off of school, to enjoy the local attractions and scenery that we sometimes don’t get to enjoy during the busyness of the school year.

4 Affordable Summer Fun Activities to do With Your Kids

#1 – Splash Pads

Splas Pad

Most splash pads have free admission, for at least part of the day.  On those super hot summer days, take your little ones to your local splash pad to cool off and play with other kids.

#2 – Picnics at the Park

Pack a picnic lunch and walk to the park, or have your little one drive the Barbie Tough Trike.

Once at the park, have a picnic lunch on a blanket and spend time playing with your kids in the park.  Spending time as a family can promote healthy family relationships and bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

Write up a list with your little ones of different items to find outdoors.

Then take a walk in your back yard or down the street to find the things on your list.  Get creative and allow your children’s imaginations to run free!

Splash pads are so fun! The City of Ottawa has many in our neighborhoods. We used to go when my kids were younger. Your daughters are adorable!

I really need to find a splash pad in my area. They look like so much fun for kids and adults hehe We had a family picnic at home on the weekend and the kids LOVED it. I must say we all enjoyed the picnic and running around after each other.

Great activities!! Summer doesn't have to be expensive, and I find that kids will often have the most fun when the least amount of money is involved and their just enjoying what's naturally around them, playing outside, being together, at the park, swimming, etc. Such great ways to entertain them :)

Oh taking a dip in a pool would be amazing to do right now. Wish I had a pool to jump into! ;) Our backyard is one big veggie garden. All those activities sound fun and bring back some happy memories of back in the day lol. :)

Oh, I love that your backyard is a garden - we have planter gardens this year for the girls which they love. Do you have a picture of your garden posted anywhere? I'd love to see it!

Oh looks fun! I wish we had a pool or splash park in Lumsden; it can make for a hot summer without them! Fortunately the sprinkler and wading pool in the back yard help a lot. Lol And I LOVE nature walks!

I love that our city has a splash pad, the only thing is that it is only free from 9-11 or so in the morning and then you have to pay when it is actually hot in the afternoons. I know in Winnipeg most of the splash pads are free all day which would be amazing. Nature walks are always fun - our whole family enjoys the outdoors!
