There is nothing like a good book

Is there any interest in your life that easily distracts you from getting anything done.  Like cleaning or getting dressed or feeding your kids (ok maybe not that last one). But just something that you know you can’t do all the time because you would not complete any task ever again if you kept at it.

Mine is reading. I love a good book! I love all different kinds as long as it has a really compelling story. Something that keeps you turning page after page. I don’t like scary books or ones with a lot of filth I just find those to be a waste of time. it has to get me at the beginning and be one of those books that I think of way longer than after I turn that last page.

When I find that book that just speaks to me and takes me away from the gigantic laundry pile and the most unorganized cupboards you have ever seen you might as well lock me in a room and throw away the key. I have the hardest time putting it down and find myself treating the book like it is a race. Like I will get some amazing treat when I am done. Which is just the opposite instead everything I put off is waiting for me smirking at me and taunting me obnoxiously.

I wish I could just read for a certain amount of time a day and then say ok back to the real world. That is difficult. This is why I don’t read a lot. I distance my books and only will keep reading a book if I really like it.

I have been reading a few books lately. Which means I have stayed up way into the night with sore eyes trying to pass the finish line of the book  so I can move on with my life.

My poor husband  is very understanding but I am sure he get’s excited when he sees me nearing the end so he can actually get his wife back.

I wanted to share a few good books that I have recently read just because they are too good not to share and what is a good book if it’s not read by a lot of people?

I have to agree with you...reading is a good distraction for me as well. I enjoy reading books that spark my interest but I have trouble putting the book down once I get started. I also have trouble getting the story out of my mind once I stop reading. I have spent many nights burning the midnight oil. I wish I had more hours in the day so I could read and do all of the other needed things. :)

Oh, I am the same way when it comes to reading. I love it! It's one of my few, or many, vices. And the laundry will always be there waiting for you. Housework is nothing if not loyal. ;o)

I love reading but I have found when that I have a hard time putting the book down when I really enjoy it. I only read books in the summer because I don't have as much going on then and I can spend more time reading.

I love reading as well. When I get started, it's always hard to stop. Best way to describe how quickly I can read when really into the books; I was able to read (and fully remember) the entire Twilight series in roughly 48 hours. I started on a Friday night, after dinner. Slept Friday night. Read all day Saturday. Slept Saturday night and finished before lunch on Sunday.

Playing Cityville on Facebook does it for me too lol.

Great post :D

I also LOVE to read but have very little time for it...or just stay up all night reading! Having the Kindle app on my iPhone has been bittersweet, because now I can read in the dark without disturbing my husband...so I'm really lacking sleep. I just love how a book takes me away for a while. There's nothing like it!

P.s. Thanks for reminding me about the pile of laundry sitting upstairs waiting to be folded!
